Renren Inc is set to acquire 100% of Trucker Path. Trucker Path is the maker of Trucker Path app that is a trip planning companion for truck drivers. Trucker Path app enables a large driver community to assist themselves in updating the real-time status of relevant points- of- interest while driving on their route. Some of the features of the app that helps the drivers are finding truck stops, available parking spots, rest areas, scales, open DOT weigh station and truck washes. Trucker Path Inc also introduced Truckloads app which is a mobile marketplace providing freight load matching app that has over 3 million loads posted monthly. Trucker Path has more than 600,000 monthly active users that cover 33% of the U.S long haul truck drivers. Renren is set to enter into the transportation business through the acquisition.

According to Joseph Chen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Renren:
“Currently, the two major emerging technology areas are artificial intelligence and block chain. With the acquisition of the Trucker Path social platform and the Truckloads freight marketplace, the Company will be well-positioned technologically to drive innovation within this important industry.”

Renren is planning to further explore intelligent transportation solutions and/ or autonomous vehicles.
