USA > India based Mahindra Group has opened a new North American HQ and manufacturing in Southeast Michigan investing $230 million

Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA), a subsidiary of Mahindra Group, has opened a new North American HQ and manufacturing operation in Southeast Michigan which is the first new OEM facility in over 25 years. The $230 million investment in Southeast Michigan includes a recently opened warehouse and logistics operations in Pontiac and an existing prototype operation in Troy. In the three Detroit area facilities Mahindra has grown to 400,000 square feet and over the past 18 months MANA will triple its workforce to 250 employees. Additional planned projects of MANA will result in 400 more jobs and predicted $600 million in local investment by 2020. MANA will also continue to provide Metro Detroit-based engineering support for new vehicle platform development for India and also the rest of the world. This facility is set to produce an off- highway vehicle which will extend Mahindra’s current positioning the growing segment

Named one of the five vehicle manufacturers selected by the United State Postal Service (USPS) to produce prototype delivery trucks for testing and evaluation, Mahindra are committed to grow in the North American market.
