Germany based Bayer to invest $8.1 million for Soybean Breeding and Trait Development Center at the Midwest Field Technology Station (MFTS) in USA.
As per Bayer’s press release growers in Illinois and across the Midwest now have the added benefit of a soybean research facility, increasing accessibility of high quality, locally adapted seeds and raising the bar for yield opportunity.
Bayer is a German multinational chemical, pharmaceutical and life sciences company. Bayer’s primary areas of business include human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare products, agricultural chemicals and biotechnology products, and high value polymers.
Bayer was founded in Barmen, Germany in 1863 by Friedrich Bayer and his partner, Johann Friedrich Weskott. It is headquartered in Leverkusen, Germany. It was part of IG Farben, from 1925 to 1952, and then again became an independent company.
