British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company, Unilever opens AED 1bn ($272.26Mn) manufacturing facility at Dubai Industrial Park in UAE. The facility is supposed to create 400 jobs in coming months.
The company said it will mark products manufactured at the factory with a ‘Made in UAE’ label and will export 80 percent of them to Europe and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
This facility is largest in the region with 100,00 sq. meters and is expected to deliver maximum output of 100,000 tons per annum of liquid beauty and personal care products (approximately 500 million units).
The brands that will be manufactured are Dove, Fair & Lovely, Lifebuoy, Vaseline, Clear, TRESemmé, and Sunsilk.
