Atlanta(USA) based Turner Broadcasting is planning to open “Digital Ventures and Innovation” unit headquarter in London by January 1,2017. Through this, Turner Broadcasting’s looks to expand the existing portfolio of international products and services on the web, for smart phones, games, apps or over-the-top (OTT) services. The company also aims to identify new opportunities and explore engagement in those new areas, through technological product innovation and/or acquisitions.
The company will also look to ramp up “non-linear” ad sales business (any form of advertising outside of traditional TV ads). The new headquarter will focus on operations across the main regions outside of the U.S. (Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America) with the staff for the new unit spreading across those countries.
