Jabil opened its new facilities in Tortosa and Aldea (Baix Ebre), Spain. The facilities specialize in packaging production for the food and beverage industry and is expected to create 80 new jobs in the medium term.
The new facility in Aldea includes new technological center (1,000 square meters), a new mould and die plant (3,500 square meter) and a new logistics area( 1,500 square meters) totaling 6,000 square meters. In addition, the Tortosa production plant has enlarged its plastics injection plant by 2,000 square meters. The 3 areas employ 73 people currently, majority of whom are engineers. The technological center is one of the most important facilities for the group as it has the mission of developing innovative solutions and products in the plastic sector for the international market.
Headquartered in Florida, Jabil is a multinational that empower the brands that empower the world by providing most technologically advanced manufacturing solution for these companies. It employs around 180,000 workers around the world out of which 500 are to be in Tortosa and Aldea. Additionally, it purchased Plásticos Castellà in 2015 to increase its presence in the Catalan region.
