IntercityHotel Riyadh Malaz is the company’s first hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is set to open before the end of the year. East Consulting Engineering Center, one of the country’s leading consultancy firms, is the contractual partner for IntercityHotel.
With a total of 86 rooms that includes four suites, IntercityHotel is located in the Al Malaz district which is also a well-established business area and is two kilometers away from Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, Riyadh Zoo and King Abdullah Park. Italian architect Matteo Thun are the interior designer for the project and other features includes a restaurant and lounge, several conference rooms, gym and a roof- top pool.
According to Ahmed M Alabdulkarim, owner and founder of the East Consulting Engineering Center:
“This move reflects the distinct growth in hotel investments that is taking place in Saudi Arabia and aims to tap into the overall tourism potential offered by the Kingdom in general and by Riyadh in particular. It also aligns with the country’s “Vision 2030” plan to diversify into various economic sectors including tourism and hospitality. This is expected to drive a new era of national growth.”

Owned by the German hospitality brand Deutsche Hospitality, IntercityHotel manages hotels. Deutsche Hospitality owns and operates 40 hotels in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Oman and China and 20 more hotels are currently in the development stage.
