The global leader in automotive seating, Adient has announced the opening of its first plant in Morocco to strengthen its global market position.
Based in Kenitra, Morocco, Adient’s plant is aimed at expanding its fabrics business that designs and manufactures high- quality materials for seating and interior applications.
According to Jef Vercammen, vice president Global Fabrics, Adient:
“The automotive industry has been steadily growing in the region, and it’s projected to grow even more in the near future. The plant’s strategic position will make it easier for us to serve our customers both in Northern Africa and Southern Europe.”
Employing local talent the plant aims to serve customers from end of June which includes Renault, PSA, Opel, BMW, Nissan and others. Adient’s Moroccan plant puts a special interest in fabric lamination for automotive seating which is a process of binding fabric layers together to create a premium looking and feeling fabric with higher endurance and resilience.
