Known as the national treasure of China, the giant panda is famous all over the world. Chengdu which is considered the hometown of the pandas is now a world class science and technology zone. It is often compared to Silicon Valley of the US and Sophia Antipolis of France and the heart of Chengdu’s such recognition is Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (CDHT). This city also plays a vital role along the ” Belt and Road” initiative and also attracts high level talents from all across the globe.
For getting even more talent from across the globe Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone is organizing the “Golden Panda” in December 2017. It has been decided to allocate no less than $100 million for the recruitment which consists of 12 aspects such as introduction of talents, support for innovation and entrepreneurship platforms, investment and financing aids, overseas talents offshore innovation and entrepreneurship assistance, and accommodation assurance for human resources.
CDHT has also established 18 “Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Talents” in countries such as UK,US and Germany. It has also constructed International Talent City which is essentially an entity that provides agent services for high level talents in innovative and entrepreneurial departments.
Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone has assembled more than 482000 talents of all fields and five Nobel Laureates have been also introduced under a flexible mechanism so far.
